New cd is out!

“There You Are” – officially the 6th cd by Kenny MacKenzie Trio is out! We’re receiving some very wonderful adds and airplay at some very awesome stations throughout the continent and getting some nice local charting. This is our first album to enter the Jazztimes chart! Woo-hoo!

If you visit our ‘store‘ you’ll see links to all the places you can either download tracks or buy an actual cd, including Itunes, Amazon, Rhapsody Juno and of course CD Baby, as well as all the other popular sites. The Junodownloads site looks particularly interesting since they sell wav files as well as mp3 formats.

The first review is of the track “Sarabande” by Mark Saleski over at jazz.com. Here’s a link. He seems to have liked it. :)

Thanks for stopping by  – please give a shout when you can.  – KM

ps – on Friday the 29th of June Ray Parker, Yoni Halevy and myself will be backing up Shenole Latimer at Szechuan Jazz in West Harford, CT. Maybe we’ll see you there!  8-11

new cd & new blog!

front cover

Hey folks – welcome to the new blog. Most earth citizens are familiar with wordpress by now, so no explanations/tutorials will be given. Do to growing popularity of both the band and evil blog spammers, all comments will have to be approved before posting.  Apologies to those like myself who lack patience in such matters. Family friendly site – please keep it that way…

Oh yeah - the new cd!! It’s finished. That’s the cover up there. It’s entitled “There You Are”  and is scheduled for release on 5/15/09 (a very special day, wink wink). It features 9 tracks with 3 different lineups. The music player on the listening page has a selection from each lineup. Frequent visitors to the site might notice these songs have appeared before; but these are the final professionally mastered versions, sounding far superior to any previously posted version. The rest of the tracks will be all new to most viewers, including (at the request of some critics and fans) a jazz standard. Woo-hoo!!

The website itself should be displaying new-ness as well in the next few weeks. The cd artwork doesn’t really lend itself to website design like the last one did…we’ll see what happens. Expect a new image map, at the very least.
As always – thanks to old and new fans for coming by the site. Go ahead and post something, would ya? Make this thing more lively & fun for everybody.
Be well and Peace – Kenny
